Gould Mesa

This February, we took a 2.5 mile in/2.5 mile out backpacking trip to Gould Mesa, near JPL.

After setting up camp, we hiked another couple of miles to a waterfall at a dam. Most everyone got a little bit (or a lot) wet. In total, we did about 6+ miles the first day, and then 2.5+ on the second. It was a really good first-timer backpacking trip; the ground was very flat, and we got to make several stream crossings.

Palmer learned that he probably needs to wear a belt. Nick learned to cross streams.

Everyone learned how to filter drinking water from a stream.

Thanks to Mr. Osorio, Ms. Mesta, and Mr. Connery for joining us.
